TWR Service Corporation offers electroless nickel coatings with PTFE (Teflon™) for certain applications.
Benefits of ENPTFE
- Enhances resin flow by 4-8%.
- Creates excellent release condition on no-draft or difficult-to-eject parts.
- Eliminates mold release sprays.
- ENPTFE autocatalytic application ensures a uniform application in deep ribs, bosses and complex details.
- Extends mold life though its high corrosion resistant characteristics.
Ideal Applications
Electroless Nickel with Teflon Plating Services aids in release on straight no-draft cores, cavities, deep ribs, bosses or E.D.M. It also aids in corrosion protection for gas producing resins such as PVC. Experience has proven this coating to be invaluable in many various molding applications. ENPTFE’s self-lubricating properties work well in grease-free molding conditions. Slides, ejector pins, and bushings work smoothly and gall-free. Results with ENPTFE may vary due to mold design, resin properties and operating parameters.
Due to homogeneous distribution of autocatalytic nickel and PTFE, there is a continual renewal of PTFE as the mold surface sustains normal wear. PTFE topical treatments will degenerate over time as the PTFE breaks down and the topcoat wears off the mold.
